Food and Medical Assistance Provided to Children in Tangail’s Jamuna Char

Gopalpur (Tangail) Correspondent: International donor agency Human Concern International and local NGO Sushilan jointly organized a 'Basic Health Screening' and food distribution program for underprivileged children at Susua Char today.

As part of the Child Sponsorship Program, 69 children underwent health check-ups on Saturday (December 6, 2025). The initiative included providing necessary medical treatment and free medication to the children. The distributed food items included:
25 kg rice, 2 kg lentils, 2 kg soybean oil, 2 kg flour, 1 kg detergent powder, 4 pieces of Lifebuoy soap, 1 toothbrush, 2 pieces of toothpaste, 2 kg sugar, 100 grams of chili powder, 2 kg salt, and 1 packet of noodles.

The event was conducted under the overall supervision and guidance of Project Focal Person Mustafa Bakuluzzaman and Monitoring Officer Kazi Faisal Kabir, while project coordinators and facilitators managed the field-level operations. HCI Compliance Officer Md. Naimul Hasan and Acting Chairman of Arjuna Union Parishad Md. Delwar Hossain Dilshad were present at the event.

Previously, 239 children in the Rohingya camps of Cox's Bazar received similar health services under this initiative. The project is being implemented in coordination with the local Upazila Administration and is scheduled to conclude in December 2025.
