Int'l and National Day of persons with Disabilities tomorrow 

The 34th International and 27th National Day of Persons with Disabilities 2025 will be celebrated nationwide on December 3, under the initiative of the National Disability Development Foundation of the Ministry of Social Welfare.

This year's theme, announced by the United Nations, is 'Fostering disability inclusive for advancing social progress, said a release here today.

This day focuses on promoting an understanding of disability issues, increasing awareness, and advocating for the rights of people with disabilities.

On the eve of the day, Chief Adviser of the Interim government Professor Muhammad Yunus issued a message congratulating all special intelligent disabled children and persons, their families, service oriented researchers, therapists, auxiliary technology innovators and concerned public and private organizations.

"Even the theme 'Fostering disability inclusive societies for advancing social progress', announced by the United Nations (UN), this year seems appropriate," he said.

The chief adviser said that the Social Welfare Ministry and its subordinate organisations are implementing social service and rehabilitation for constituting inclusive society participating by the disabled persons in the country under community-based rehabilitation (CBR) programme as per the World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines.
    
If the country can ensure proper education, health, security and employment opportunities for the special talented disabled persons then they will able to play key role in shaping a developed Bangladesh in coming days, he said, adding, "So, various disability services and help centers and autism and Neuro-Developmental Disability (NDD) have been kept on including administering intellectually disabled school under National Disabled Development Foundation, initiative has been taken to construct international standard multipurpose sports complex in Savar and inauguration of Martyred Farhan Faiyaz play ground for playing disabled sportsman at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban premises."

"I believe that the specialized disabled persons of the country would once truly transform Bangladesh into a 'Sonar Bangla' through their effort, knowledge and integrity," the CA said to mark the day.
