Clothing and Shoes Distributed Among Children in the Remote Char Area of Tangail

Gopalpur (Tangail) Correspondent: In the remote char area of Shushua on the Jamuna River in Tangail, clothing and shoes were distributed among 69 children under the Child Sponsorship Program, funded by the international donor organization Human Concern International (HCI) and implemented by the non-governmental development organization Sushilan.

The distribution event was held on Sunday (November 2) 3.00Pm at the field of Shushua Welfare Association. A total of 68 girls received burqas, three-piece dresses, shoes, and scarves, while one boy received a shirt-pant set, panjabi, pajama, and shoes.

Present at the event were Mominur Rahman, President of Shushua Welfare Association; Ruma Khatun, Field Facilitator of Sushilan; and volunteer Rashida Khatun. The overall supervision was carried out by Mustafa Bakuluzzaman, Deputy Director of Sushilan, and Kazi Faisal Kabir, Monitoring Officer.

The beneficiary children said that with the support of Human Concern International, they receive various forms of assistance throughout the year, including educational materials, food supplies, healthcare support, clothing, sports equipment, Eid gifts, umbrellas, bags, and water pots.
They added, “As we live in flood-prone areas, our parents could not afford these things. With this support, we can now attend the madrasa regularly.
