“Detective Chinatown 3” continues to lead Chinese mainland box office

BEIJING,  – “Detective Chinatown 3” continued to lead the Chinese mainland box office on Sunday, raking in more than 582 million yuan (90.4 million U.S. dollars), according to data from the China Movie Data Information Network.

“Detective Chinatown 3” has dominated the Chinese box office since its debut on Feb. 12. Coming in a close second was time travel comedy “Hi, Mom,” which generated nearly 345 million yuan on Sunday, weakening the dominance of “Detective Chinatown 3.”

Ranking third was fantasy thriller “A Writer’s Odyssey,” generating a revenue of about 73 million yuan on Sunday, and fourth was animated cartoon
“Boonie Bears: The Wild Life,” pocketing over 56 million yuan.

China’s box office revenue since the beginning of the week-long Spring Festival holiday on Feb. 11 has exceeded 5 billion yuan, according to data compiled by Chinese movie-ticketing and film data platform Maoyan.
