The government is providing all kinds of assistance for the development of women’s education: Environment Minister

Minister of Environment, Forests and Climate Change Shahab Uddin said the government is providing all necessary assistance for the development of women’s education in Bangladesh. As a result of various initiatives of the government, unprecedented development of women’s education has taken place in the country. If all concerned work for the development of women’s education in their respective areas by utilizing government facilities, women will be able to be educated and play a greater role in the development of the country.

The Environment Minister was speaking as the chief guest at the ceremony of laying the foundation stone of Sujanagar Union Girls’ High School in Moulvibazar’s Baralekha upazila on Friday (February 12) afternoon.

The environment minister said if a girls’ school is established in the village, more women will be able to get education. He said the establishment of such a school would cost a lot of money and labor at the beginning but the government would take over the responsibility later. Thanking the founders, the minister said the government would provide all possible assistance for the development of the school, including widening the road to come to school.

Baralekha Upazila Parishad Chairman Shoaib Ahmed, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Shamim Al Imran, former Upazila Parishad Chairman and Acting General Secretary of Upazila Awami League Rafiqul Islam Sundar and among the founders of the school Badrul Islam and Tareq Ahmed were present.
