DHAKA, – Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today said the tasks of the collection of COVID-19 vaccine and its distribution will successfully be carried out amidst perfect transparency under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

“Under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, the works of vaccine collection and its Administering the doses must be completed with transparency, Insha Allah,” he told a function through videoconferencing from his official residence here.

Dhaka South City unit of Awami League organized the function at AL’s Central Office at the city’s Bangabandhu Avenue aiming to distribute warm clothes among the cold-prone people.

Quader, also the Road Transport And Bridges Minister, said BNP has started propaganda against the COVID-19 vaccine, which is a part of its ill-politics of making the works of the government for the people’s welfare controversial and questionable.

The BNP leaders continued raising false allegations of vaccine misappropriation even before the vaccine reached the country, he said, calling upon the country’s people not to be confused with the BNP’s propaganda.

Noting that extremism is now a part of the BNP’s political character, AL general secretary said: “People can no longer be made fool by spreading the falsehood of communalism and religion.”

BNP is not standing beside the people in any crisis, but it is only throwing arrows of criticism against the government, he said, adding “Awami League always stands by the helpless people in any natural disaster, which is its tradition for last seven decades”.

Mentioning that BNP’s politics is not proactive now but reactive, Quader said the BNP leaders only find destruction all around and they do not see any development and achievement of the government.

“In fact, their creativity has been devoured by impenetrable negativity because the eyes of BNP leaders are now covered by winter fog,” he added.

About the municipality polls, the AL general secretary said the third and fourth phases of the elections are approaching, and warned that stern organizational actions would be taken against the AL leaders who would work against the party nominated candidates in the municipality elections.

He asked the Dhaka South City unit of Awami League to form committees at ward and thana levels at the quickest possible time by holding conferences.

President of AL Dhaka South City unit Abu Ahmed Mannafi, its General Secretary Humayun Kabir, Vice President, Dr Dilip Roy, Organising Secretary Golam Asharaf Talukder and Office Secretary Reaz Uddin were, among others, present at the function.
