BCCCI election for 2025–27 term to be held on 23 August

TBT DESK: The Bangladesh China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCCI) has formally announced that its election for the 2025–2027 term will take place on 23 August 2025.

The official schedule, released by the BCCCI election board on 15 May, outlines a structured electoral timeline. According to the announcement, a preliminary voter list will be published on 3 July, followed by the final list on 13 July.

Earlier in March this year, the interim government appointed Nargis Murshida, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, as the administrator of the chamber. Her appointment comes as part of the broader effort to ensure a transparent and orderly electoral process, according to a press release.

The list of valid candidates contesting in the election will be released on 30 July. Following a thorough scrutiny process, the final list of candidates is expected to be published on 7 August.

Md Abu Taher, Office Secretary of the BCCCI, confirmed the details and expressed hope for a fair and participatory election, encouraging all stakeholders to remain engaged throughout the process.
