Sylhet Correspondent: With aspirations of becoming a hotel of international standard, the newly opened Royal Mark Hotel in Sylhet officially began its journey on Friday, with Bangladesh’s Ambassador to Mexico, Mushfiqul Fazal Ansaree (ranked as Senior Secretary), inaugurating the establishment in a grand ceremony held at Mirabazar, Sylhet.
Speaking as the chief guest, Ambassador Ansaree expressed hope that the hotel would serve as a platform to welcome distinguished international guests, thereby contributing to the growth of the city’s hospitality and business sectors.
“This hotel has been developed by some of Sylhet’s most prominent business figures who have investments in the power sector, hospitals, and other areas. It is yet another significant addition to the service industry,” he remarked. “I’ve been told Royal Mark offers a modern and international standard experience with 50 rooms, two ballrooms, the 'Crèmez' coffee lounge, 'Sufra' restaurant, and a rooftop dining experience. Maintaining high standards will be key to its success and prosperity,” he added.
Chairing the ceremony, Royal Mark Hotel’s Chairman, Faisal Ahmed Chowdhury, reassured guests of their commitment to quality, saying, “We have a live rooftop kitchen, and guests are welcome to visit it at any time. We ensure strict hygiene and will serve only the best food.”
Special guest Ariful Haque Chowdhury, Advisor to the BNP Chairperson and former Mayor of Sylhet City Corporation, commented, “Royal Mark is opening as a three-star hotel. I hope the promises made today will be upheld, and I wish the hotel continued progress.”
Other distinguished guests included Sylhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Fayez Hasan Ferdous, Sylhet Metropolitan Chamber President Maulana Khairul, Director Fahim Ahmed Chowdhury, former Sylhet Club President and Baraka Group Director Afzal Rashid Chowdhury, and Baraka Group Director Naeem Ahmed Chowdhury.
With its blend of aesthetic architecture, high-end amenities, and local and international investment, the Royal Mark Hotel is set to become a shining landmark in Sylhet’s evolving urban landscape.
