Construction work of Chandparahaat complex begins in Gobindaganj

GAIBANDHA, – Construction work of a four-storied building in the name of Chandparahaat complex began at Cochashahar union under Gobindaganj upazila in the district on Sunday amid much enthusiasm to the traders who are doing their brisk business at Chandparahaat, a business center of the upazila.

Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) would implement the work at the cost of TK 2.86 crore. On Sunday afternoon local lawmaker Monower Hossain Chowdhury inaugurated the work virtually from Dhaka and addressed the function as the chief guest and upazila chairman Abdul Latif Prodhan and executive engineer of LGED here Ahsan Kabir addressed it as the special guests.

Moderated by political leader Asaduzzaman Rigen, the function was also addressedamong others by coordinator of local lawmaker agriculturist Abdullah AL Hasan Chowdhury Liton, upazila engineer of LGED Abdul Latif, union Awami League president Mizanur Rahman, former union parishad Chairman Abu Sufian Mondal.

Lawmaker Monower Hossain Chowdhury said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been developing the rural haat and bazars through constructing infrastructures considering the interest of the businessmen.

Executive engineer of LGED Ahsan Kabir said Chandpara is one of the biggest haats in the upazila and the businessmen do their business activities well but a section of businessmen do not do their business activities for want of concrete infrastructure.

Executive engineer of LGED here Ahsan Kabir said the work would be finished by June, 2022, it is expected.
