ECNEC approves nine development projects worth Tk 3,756cr

Staff Correspondent: The Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) has approved nine development projects amounting to Tk 3,756 crore.
The approvals came during the 10th ECNEC meeting held on Wednesday (7 May) at the NEC Conference Room, presided over by Chief Adviser and ECNEC Chairperson Dr Muhammad Yunus.
Following the meeting, Planning Adviser Dr Wahiduddin Mahmud briefed reporters and shared that a total of nine projects involving Tk 3,756.20 crore have been greenlit. Of the total cost, Tk 2,798.19 crore will come from government funding, Tk 812.95 crore from project loans, and the remaining Tk 145.06 crore will be financed by the implementing agencies themselves.
The meeting was attended by several high-profile advisers including Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Professor Asif Nazrul; Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain; Home Affairs Adviser (Retd) Lt Gen Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury; Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan; Food and Land Adviser Ali Imam Majumder; Railways Adviser Muhammad Fauzul Kabir Khan; Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan; Disaster Management and Relief Adviser Farooq-i-Azam; Social Welfare Adviser Sharmin S Murshed; Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki; and Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, along with senior officials from respective ministries.
The projects are expected to bolster infrastructure, enhance public services, and support socio-economic development across the country.
