First Security Islami Bank PLC Sylhet Zone organized 'Business Review Meeting' on Friday at a local auditorium. Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Chairman of the bank was present in the program as Chief Guest. Abu Reza Md. Yeahia, Managing Director (Current Charge) presided over the meeting while Abu Naser Mohammed Nazmul Bari, Senior Executive Vice President and Mohammad Rokan Uddin, Executive Vice President were present. Foysal Ahmed, Head of Sylhet Zone delivered the welcome speech of the meeting. Executives and officials of branches and sub-branches under Sylhet zone participated in meeting.
The day-long meeting reviewed the bank's overall business situation including customer service, deposits, investments, remittances and foreign trade.
Mohammad Abdul Mannan, the Chief Guest advised the managers and other participants to reach the welfare-oriented services of Islamic banking at the doorsteps of the marginal people. He instructed the bank officials to invest the local deposits locally by giving priority to improving the living standards of the edged people, generating small entrepreneurs and employment under the objectives of Shariah. He also emphasized on compliance of Shariah, implementation of good governance and development of moral standards, knowledge excellence and professional skills of the bank officials.
The Chairman of the bank said that Customers have shown their trust and love to First Security Islami Bank by opening 7 lac 50 thousand new accounts in the last 6 months. The bank has collected 3 thousand 300 crore new deposits and recovered more than 2 thousand 400 crore of defaulted investments in the aforesaid period.
