Dhaka's Ali Martuza becomes millionaire buying Walton fridge

TBT DESK: Ali Martuza, a small trader at Jatrabari in Dhaka, was awarded Tk 10 lakh after he had purchased a Walton brand refrigerator under the "millionaire" offer of the company's nationwide ongoing Digital Campaign Season-22.
Before him, Rasel Fakir, a college student from Charbhadrasan upazila of Faridpur, and Khokon Mia, a farmer from Netrokona, became millionaires by buying Walton fridges in Season 22, each awarded Tk 10 lakh.
Popular film actor Amin Khan and Walton's Chief Marketing Officer handed over a cheque worth Tk10 lakh to Martuza at a programme held in the Shanir Akhra area of the capital on Saturday. In season 22, customers are offered Tk 10 lakh for purchasing Walton brand fridges, ACs, washing machines, or BLDC fans from any Walton Plaza and distributor outlet nationwide. Crores of taka are sure cashback is also available for customers.
Customers will enjoy these benefits until Eid-ul-Azha this year.
Under the campaign, Martuza purchased a fridge from Walton's distributor showroom, Electro Vision, for Tk 46,700 on March 8, 2025. After that, his name, mobile number, and the model number of the purchased fridge were digitally registered. After a while, he received a message from Walton on his mobile with the notification that he had been awarded Tk10 lakh cashback.
Ali Martuza said at the event, "I never thought I would get one million taka by buying a Walton refrigerator. Many companies do not keep their promises to customers. But Walton is an exception. Thanks to the Walton authorities for that."
The cheque handover ceremony was also attended by Walton's Executive Director, Monirul Haque Mona, Walton Fridge's brand manager, Mostafizur Rahman, and Electro Vision's proprietor, Kazi Belayet Hossain.
