Construction work of Water Control Regulator begins in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, – Construction work of water control regulator began at Nilkuthi Bhangamour area under Saghata upazila in the district.

Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), Gaibandha is implementing the work at a cost of Tk 1.09 crore under its Water Resources Development Project. Deputy Speaker of the Jatiyo Sangsad Advocate Fazle Rabbi Miah inaugurated the construction work of the regulator yesterday.

Speaking on the occasion, Fazle Rabbi Miah said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had taken initiatives to do water management work across the country.

Food production in the country has increased significantly due to pragmatic measure undertaken by the government. “Now people are sincere to produce quality and hygienic food for all to build a healthy nation,” he added. The deputy speaker also urged the contractors and the officials to complete the work within the stipulated time.

Executive engineer of LGED Md Ahsan Kabir, UNO Mohiuddin Jahangir, senior assistant engineer Md Sabiul Islam, local UP chairman Md Samsul Azad Shitol and journalists were present on the occasion. Talking to the BSS, executive engineer of LGED Ahsan Kabir said the work would be completed by December 2021.
