World AIDS Day observed in Khulna

KHULNA, – With the cooperation of UNICEF, Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) and Khulna Civil Surgeon Office (KCSO) today observed World AIDS Day with an aim of successful prevention of the Human Immunodeficiency Virus infection and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS).

Maintaining social distancing and following health guideline, set up by the government, KMCH arranged a rally and provided T- shirt, cap, Leaflet and poster inscribed with AIDS related information among people, said a press release.

The rally was inaugurated by KMCH director Munshi Reza Sekendar while physicians, staff and nurses were present, among others.

The rally started at 10.00 am from KMCH administrative building and paraded important areas of KMCH premises.

Later, a discussion meeting was held at KMCH seminar with its director Dr Munshi Reza Sekendar in the chair.

Health officer of UNICEF S M Nazmul Ahsan addressed the discussion meeting as the chief guest while KMCH deputy directors Bidhan Chandra Ghosh, and Dr Dip Kumar Das, UNICEF managers Md Nurul Hasan and Dr Shamsun Nahar Lucky as well as Principal of Khulna Nursing College Asmatunnesa, among others, spoke.

Meanwhile, Khulna Civil Surgeon Office organised a rally and discussion meeting to mark the day.

Khulna deputy commissioner Md Nazmul Hasan addressed the meeting as the chief guest with Khulna Civil Surgeon Dr Sujat Ahmed in the chair.
