SHARIATPUR, – Former general secretary of Shariatpur district Awami League (AL) Abul Fazal Master passed away around 7pm yesterday while undergoing treatment at the National Kidney Institute in the capital at the age of 78.

Fazal Master, also former chairman of Shariatpur Sadar Upazila, had been suffering from prolonged heart and kidney diseases.

He is survived by wife, two sons, a daughter and a host of relatives, friends and well wishers.

Deputy Minister for Water Resources and Central Chhatra League’s former President AKM Enamul Hoque Shameem, Shariatpur-1 constituency’s MP and AL executive member Iqbal Hossain Apu and Shariatpur-3 constituency’s MP Nahim Razzak have expressed deep grief at the death of Fazal Master.

In separate condolence messages, they also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
