KAMPS gives free treatment to poor patients in Tangail

Over 3,500 poor patients received free treatment and necessary medicine on February 21 at a Free Medical Camp in Tangail on February 2st (Friday).

Kidney Awareness Monitoring and Prevention Society (KAMPS), a voluntary healthcare giving organisation, arranged the programme in honour of the language martyrs marking the international mother language day 2025 at ‘Talim Ghar’ ground at Hatibandha, Shakhipur in Tangail District. 

A team of more than 50 physicians and technologists, led by the renowned Kidney specialist and Chairman of KAMPS, Prof Dr MA Samad, treated the patients for the day long. 

Patients suffering from various diseases including kidney, heart, liver, guyenne, gastro, diabetes, skin etc received the treatment. 

A discussion session on how to prevent the kidney disease through changing lifestyle also took place on the same venue at ‘Talim Ghar’ ground. 

The Managing Director and CEO of Sonali Bank PLC, Md. Shawkat Ali Khan attended the seminar as the chief guest.

While addressing, the chief guest appreciated the initiative taken by KAMPS to honor the language martyrs as well as providing free medical treatment and medicines to the patients deprived of opportunities.

He said the individuals who are solvent and corporate organization need to come forward in assisting the programs, the KAMPS undertake usually in providing humanitarian support to the needy people.

In his keynote speech, Prof Dr MA Samad stressed needs to formulating policy to widespread coverage of massive awareness raising program across the country mainly targeting to prevent the kidney disease.

He said keeping the urgency of awareness raising to prevent kidney disease, the World Kidney Day authority has laid due stress on prevention its theme for the year 2025. 

KAMPS Chairman and Head of the Department of Nephrology, Anwer Khan Modern Hospital, Prof. Dr MA Samad presided over the sessions. Additional Secretary, Ministry of Information, Dr. Muhammad Altaf Ul Alam, Chairman, Proshika, Ms Rokeya Islam, Writer and former Joint Secretary of the government, Shah Sanaul Haque, Executive Director of KAMPS, Rezwan Salehin, Founder Vice President of KAMPS, Poet Nasrin Begum, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Md. Amin Sharif, Deputy Secretary Information Ministry, Md Awlad Hossain, Director Transport Audit Department, Md. Aminul Ehsan Kabir,    UNO Shakhipur Upozila, Md. Abdullah Al Rony, CEO, Proshika, Sirajul Islam, DGM, DPDC, Nur Qamrunnahar also spoke on the occasion.
