TBT Desk: Syeda Zakeerin Bakht Nasir, chief consultant and CEO of Z N Consultants, has joined the Board of Directors of Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC (DSE) as an independent director. She attended her first board meeting on Tuesday, marking the 1,086th session of the DSE board.
The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) approved her appointment on 13 February 2025, filling a vacancy left by Dr Nahid Hossain, additional secretary of the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance, who resigned on 4 December 2024.
With over 32 years of experience in human resource management, Syeda Zakeerin Bakht Nasir has played key leadership roles at American Express Bank Ltd and Siemens Bangladesh Limited as Head of Human Resources. She specialises in organisational and process transformation, strategic planning, change management, legal compliance, leadership development, and talent acquisition.
She is also a founding vice-president of the Bangladesh Society for Human Resources Management (BHRM), reads a press release.
Currently leading Z N Consultants, she provides expert HR solutions, including organisational restructuring, talent management, and compensation design. Previously, she worked as an independent HR consultant, advising various companies on workforce development and corporate strategy.
She holds a BCom (Hons) and MCom in Finance and Banking from the University of Dhaka and is a member of the DU Alumni Association and Finance Alumni Association. Her global experience includes HR exposure at Siemens' headquarters in Germany and hands-on training at its sister concern in Pakistan. She has also participated in multiple international HR workshops in Singapore, Thailand, India, Malaysia, and Hong Kong.
Welcoming her to the board, DSE Chairman Mominul Islam highlighted her vast experience in institutional HR development. "Her appointment strengthens our board, bringing in a wealth of knowledge that will help us work towards capital market growth and investor confidence," he said.
