JU student dies from dengue fever

Shahadat Sumon,  JU correspondent:  A third-year student of Jahangirnagar University (JU) died of dengue fever at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Ranjit Das Chauhan, a student of the university’s Government and Politics department under the academic session 2016-17 (46th batch).

Chauhan, hailing from Cumilla, was also a resident of Shaheed Rafiq Jabber Hall and general secretary of a cultural organization of the university, JU cine society.

Hall provost Prof. Sohel Ahmed confirmed the death saying that Chauhan underwent treatment at the Cumilla Tower hospital with dengue fever from early Sunday. Earlier, he was suffering from Jaundice for a week.

Later he was transferred to DMCH as his physical condition deteriorating rapidly and there on duty doctor declared him death at around 1.40am, he added.
