In this era, along with the industrial revolution, there has been a touch of modernity in every field.Similarly, our drama industry has not been left out of thismodernity.

Today, Shamim Zaman is one of leading the producer, director, actor and playwriter who have reached the pinnacle of modernity. He does not forget our rural Bangla even in the midst of modernity whose drama speaks of our motherland. It speaks of the atmospheric rural society of Bengal.
In the dramas produced and acted by him, we find the own form, smell, art and tradition of ruralBangla.Even in this modernity period, we still find beautiful golden Bengal in the form of Nazrul, Jasimuddin and Jibanananda Das. We can feel the fragrance of ancient Bengal.

Shamim Zaman was born on 19th January 1974 in Manikganj, Dhaka district.He spent his childhood in Manikganj. His family name is “Saifuzzaman”.He completed his secondary from Shibalay High School and his higher secondary from Dhaka City College. He completed his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in political science from Jagannath University. Shamim Zamanwas very interested in acting from the time he was in school. So, from an early age, he became interested in acting and joined various local cultural organizations. As a result, he spontaneously took part in various cultural events in schools and colleges as a student and achieved success with achievement. In 1989, Shamim Zaman wrote his name with “Aranyak Natto Dol”. And this is where the path of his acting career started. And this is where the friendship was formed with another genius A. K. M. Hasan and from here they became good friends of each other. After that, he became good friend with Mosharraf Karim and Chanchal Chowdhury in theater. Later, these four geniuses together brought a new dimension to Bengali drama and became success in the world of dramas. After its remnants, it spread far and wide all over the world, including Bengal.

After joining “Aranyak Natto Dol”, he first started working in theater. Since being associated with this organization, he has performed dramas such as “Iblis”, “Pathor”, “Joyjoanti”, “Kotha O Moyur Singhason”, “Prokritjon”, “Sonkranti”, “Darang” etc.

He made his debut on the Bengali small screen soon after he became successful and popular in theater drama. Here he improved his thinking, talent and efforts and successfully rose to prominence as a successful, skilled actor, director and producer. His most talked dramas are “Doyagonj”, “College Student” and “Service Holder”.

Apart from dramas, he also acted in a few movies. His movies are “Adhiar”, “Bangla Maer’s Damal Chele”, “Chana O Mukti Joddha”. He made a permanent place in the hearts of thousands of viewers through his simple and perfect acting. Due to which he is well known in Bangladesh today.
Through his fluent gestures and clear dialogue, he took a firm stand in Bengali drama, especially in comedy dramas.

He has been directing dramas since 2010. Notable dramas he has directed are “Rajab Ali and Tar Kafoner Kotha”, “36 Khaleque”, “Jhamela Unlimited”, “Anondo Gram”, “Chatam Ghar”, “Hitler Harun”, “Probashi Jamai” and “Vespa -150 “. Although his dramas are full of humorous juices, most of the dramas have a real view of our social system. He has presented to us in a simple and perfect way. He has shown the tension of rural society life through his plays as well as the reality of urban life. Shamim Zaman is a successful producer after successfully acting and directing. He has his own production company “Sharat Telefilm”. Notable dramas produced from this company are “Goru Chor” “Har Kiptta” “Potro Mitali” “Ostadorji” “Shilabari” “Goriber Bondhu” “Shaiabari”etc.
