Health Adviser Nurjahan Begum and British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cooke today visited the injured victims of quota reform movement at the National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) hospital.
They inquired about the conditions of the victims, who were critically injured by the members of law enforcement agencies during the movement.
Director of NITOR Prof. Dr. Kazi Shamim uzzaman said a two-member team of doctors from the United Kingdom (UK) is providing treatment to 85 patients who were injured during anti-discrimination student movement.
Until now, the UK doctors have performed surgery on 16 patients and will perform surgery on two more patients tomorrow, he added.
Officials of health ministry, officials of British High Commission and hospital authority were present at the time.
