US looks forward to continued engagement with Bangladesh: Miller

The United States (US) has expressed its commitment to ongoing cooperation with Bangladesh to address challenges related to economic stability, democracy, security, and the Rohingyas, State Department spokesperson said on Tuesday.

“The Secretary (Antony Blinken) did have a productive meeting with Chief Adviser of the Interim Government (Prof. Muhammad Yunus) to and looks forward to continued engagement to advance progress on all of these issues,” spokesperson Matthew Miller said in a regular media briefing in Washington.
He made the remark when a journalist wanted to know how the Biden administration is navigating its relationship with Bangladesh considering the country’s challenges with economic stability, democracy, security, and Rohingys.
"So we continue to work with the Government of Bangladesh on all those questions," Miller replied.

Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus held separate meetings with US President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Blinken on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties and addressing key regional and global issues.

Both President Biden and Chief Adviser Yunus reaffirmed the strong partnership between the United States and Bangladesh, underscoring shared democratic values and deep people-to-people connections.
