Global Handwashing Day celebrated

Dhaka North and Narayanganj City Corporation have joined hands to celebrate Global Handwashing Day to raise awareness about the benefits of hand washing with soap by holding hand-washing exhibitions, micking, leaflets and distribution of health-defense materials against Covid-19 in collaboration with the volunteers of the nongovernmental organization Community Participation and Development (CPD) with the financial support of Unilever and UKAID’s Hygiene and Behavior Change Coalition (HBCC) and the technical support of Save the Children, a press release said.

During the time, NCC Ward Councilor Asit Baran Biswas, Residential Medical Officer (RMO) of Narayanganj General Hospital (Victoria) Dr. Md. Asaduzzaman, Sifat-e-Rabban, Headmaster of Bangabandhu Government Primary School, members of Ward Disaster Management Committee and project staff were among others present on the occasion.

It is to be noted that Global Handwashing Day was celebrated on October 15. This day is properly observed to create awareness among the people all over the world about washing hands with soap and preventing the spread of disease.
