National Zoo to reopen from Nov 1

DHAKA, – Bangladesh National Zoo in Mirpur, Dhaka is set to reopen for visitors from November 1, following all the health safety guidelines for Covid-19.

In a press release, Fisheries and Livestock Ministry said social distancing must be maintained, visitors must go through disinfectant tunnel and their temperature should be measured.

The entrance gate should have a system to check the body temperature of the visitors and arrangements should be made so that the visitors can wash their hands inside the zoo.

The number of daily visitors should not exceed 2,000 and the zoo will remain open from 9am to 3pm, the release added.

Awareness campaigns on Covid-19 should run through digital displays and access to the zoo should be restricted to people over the age of 60.

Earlier on March 20, the zoo authorities announced to disallow visitors amid the Covid-19 outbreak in the country.
