Renowned actor Alamgir and journalist Shamim Alam Dipen will be honoured with the Fazlul Haque Memorial Award 2020 for direction and cine-journalism respectively.

The award-giving ceremony will be held at the studio of Channel i on October 26. Each winners will be given prize money of 25,000 Tk, crests and certificates of honour.

Fazlul Haque was the editor of the first cine magazine of the country, Cinema, which he published in 1950 from his birth place Bogra. Fazlul Haque also directed a film for children titled ‘President’, where his son Faridur Reza Sagar, the managing director of Channel-i, had acted as a child artiste.
Fazlul Haque’s wife Rabeya Khatun introduced the Fazlul Haque Memorial Award in 2004. Since then every year, the award ceremony is organised by Fazlul Haque Smriti Committee.
