Tigers to start practice for SL tour tomorrow with 27 cricketers

DHAKA, —A total of 27 players were called up as Bangladesh is all set to begin their skill camp at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium tomorrow (Sunday) for the upcoming Sri Lanka tour.

Uncertainty though loomed over the tour following the quarantine period issue, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) wanted the players to keep them on track by practicing under the supervision of the coach.

A BCB press release said, keeping in mind the restrictions and safety measures for COVID-19, the squad’s training and movement will be regulated through the creation of a Bio-Secure Bubble.

Before starting the practice camp, the players will check-in to Hotel Sonargaon, where a Bio-secure environment was created for them.

Opener Saif Hassan who was tested positive for COVID-19 again was also named in 27 members squad even though he won’t start practice until he is found negative. The practice will continue till September 26. Bangladesh is due to leave the country for Colombo for a three-match Test series on September 27.
