Singer, song writer Shayantani Twisha comes from a prominent musical family of the country and has been singing from an early age. She is the vocalist of the band ‘Uncertainty Principle’. She is also an established corporate personnel, a press release said.
She is currently working on the first album of Uncertainty Principle. Her plan is to release music videos for most of the songs before the album is released. So far four of the songs have been already released on social media. Upcoming videos include one of their original tracks called ‘Unicorn’ and a Tagore song fusion ‘Sokatore’. The band has released a rough unmixed version of the latter one earlier.
When asked about live music, she said- ‘Live music is the real deal. During the lockdown period all live shows and events are at halt. This is frustrating but necessary for the current situation. As soon as the lockdown is lifted, we hope to perform live. Live shows are where a musician can directly interact with the audience and rock their world.’
Shayantani loves experimenting with music of different genre. However, all her original songs for the band ‘Uncertainty Principle’ is in English. She is the lyricist of the band and according to her, after growing up reading books of Rabindranath, Nazrul, Jibanada Das, Sukumar Ray, Satyajit Ray, Lila Majumdar, Upendrakishore, Samaresh, Bibhutibhushan, Bankim Chandra she feels it is difficult to write Bangla songs with standard. She wishes to gather the courage to write Bangla songs someday.
During this lockdown Shayantani Twisha has been working from home while spending a substantial amount of time with her family. She also started to learn guitar. However, because of the pandemic, the launching of the album by this year has become uncertain. She has plans to collaborate with different artists after the lockdown is lifted. She also would love to sing songs for dramas, serials and movies if the opportunity arises.
Apart from singing Shayantani Twisha loves to travel the world. Her dream is to go on a world tour with her music someday.
