171 diagnosed as COVID-19 positive, 3 die in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, – A total of 171 more people were infected with coronavirus in the five COVID-19 laboratories after testing 599 samples in the city and district in the last 24 hours.

With the three death today, the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) death toll in Chattogram reached 124 till today.

Among the newly detected 171 corona patients, 79 are from Chattogram city and 92 from different upazilas of the district.

The total number of COVID-19 patients now stands at 5408 only in Chattogram district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, told BSS today.

A total of 458 persons were released from the hospital after recovery from COVID-19 infection.

Dr Rabbi told that 46 new COVID-19 patients were diagnosed with the corona virus at BITID, Chattogram after testing 235 samples in last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 42 more new COVID-19 patients were tested corona positive at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) after testing 137 samples during the same period.

Besides, 59 new COVID-19 patients were identified at CVASU, Chattogram after testing 155 samples, the civil surgeon adding that 15 more new COVID-19 patients were identified at Chattogram University after testing 44 samples in last 24 hours.

On the other hand, nine residents of Lohagara upazila were identified as COVID-19 positive after testing 28 samples at Cox’s Bazar Medical College Hospital in last 24 hours.
