As the country passing its hard time ever for the coronavirus pandemic, Laxmipur Sadar Upazila Chairman AKM Salah Uddin Tipu has stood beside the underprivileged people from early morning till late at night from the beginning of this outbreak. He used to lend hands to local people every day with new initiatives and help. Thanks to his humanitarian initiatives chairman AKM Salah Uddin Tipu turn out to peddler of humanity and some even called him Humanitarian Chairman.
In the meantime, corona patients identified in Ramgati and Ramganj upazila of Laxmipur raised concern of further infection. To fight this situation, the district has been put under locked-down. In such a condition, the low-income people passing through extreme hardships and middle class also in a big trouble. Keep this situation in mind, Laxmipur Sadar Upazila Chairman and District Juba League President AKM Salah Uddin Tipu has taken some outstanding initiatives to lessen sufferings of the locality. Hence, he started a mobile medical service called ‘Doctor Jabe Bari’ in his upazila.
In addition, he relentlessly continued awareness building through miking of using masks, hand gloves and hand sanitizers and assisted the doctors by providing different safety kits including protective clothing. Besides, he has marked circles of social distance in front of the shop personally with his hands and sprayed disinfectants on the streets late at night till to date from the beginning of March. Simultaneously, he distributed more than 10,000 bags of food assistance across the unions of Sadar upazila. He also went door to door in Laxmipur municipal area and distributed various vegetables among the lower and middle class people.
Laxmipur Sadar Upazila Chairman AKM Salah Uddin Tipu said, Following the instructions of our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, I am providing this help to people with own funding. I also promised to continue these activities in future.
Convener of Bhabaniganj Union Juba League of Sadar Upazila Abdur Razzak Rasel said, Starting since beginning of March, Tipu Bhai is continuing distribution of these materials among the people with his own hands irrespective of his life. In addition, he launched a helpline for middle class people. Thousands food bags have already been distributed through the helpline on free. Moreover, mobile shop selling of daily commodities at 50 percent discount and distribution of goods among the disabled on free also done by his funding.
