circumstances, the government has taken all necessary steps to this end.

“Air connectivity has already been suspended with the rest of the world. Other measures have been taken too,” he said.

Coming down heavily on BNP for spreading “confusing messages’ among people over coronavirus, Hasan said nobody should do politics capitalising the country’s hard situation but BNP is spreading “confusing and irresponsible messages’ among people over coronavirus.

He said now all political parties should come forward to tackle the coronavirus staying above their political thoughts.

The AL joint general secretary said while the whole world is going through a catastrophic situation, BNP is spreading misleading information
among people. “I humbly request all the BNP men – to stand by people. If you have any suggestion, please give it to the government,” he said.

Replying to a question, Hasan said the Bangladesh Television is airing different advertisements, prepared by the information ministry, on
coronavirus aiming to make common people aware of the deadly virus. “The advertisements will be sent to other TV channels too for airing,” he added.

Responding to another question whether any initiative would be taken to protect journalists from coronavirus, the information minister said steps
would be taken in consultation with the health minister so that safety tools could be distributed among journalists.

About the postponement of the Chattogram City election and by-elections in some constituencies, he said the Election Commission (EC) has taken a time- befitting decision to this end due to coronavirus.
