Brac University offers Paralegal Certificate Course

The first ever Paralegal Certificate Course in Bangladesh is going to be offered by the Centre for Peace and Justice (CPJ), Brac University, said a press release.

The 7 day long course is unique and one of its specialties is that it is accompanied by a 2-month long internship facility in different NGOs, Law Chambers, Court Offices and Rights Based Organizations.

Course Lead Mr. Motahar Akand said that the registration for this course has already started and will be open till 30th January, 2020.As this course is divided into 3 main parts, the first part includes role and activities of Paralegals, human rights, gender justice, the Constitution of Bangladesh, legal system, dispute resolution, land laws, family laws, children laws, laws regarding violence against women, child marriage prevention laws, cyber laws, Legal Aid Act etc.

The second part is a 2 month long internship while the 3rd part is a refresher and distribution of certificates.

The course teaches professionalism as well as cultivates humanism within the minds of the Paralegals, the release added.
