I will sing till my last breath: Nigar Sultana Popy

TBT DESK: Bangladeshi folk singer Nigar Sultana Popy started singing at the age of 8. She came to the music world due to inspiration of her family. Popy took park in various music competitions from an early age. Since the beginning she was attracted to folk singing.
Popy’s first mentor was prominent musician Badrunnesa. Later she took guidance of Harimon Debnath, Ekram Ullah and Sheikh Jasim. She received Ushasi Parishad Dhaka 2019 Eid Taroka Award, Somototer Kagoj Gunijon Shommamona Award, International Baul Festival, Baul Tori 2018 Award, Nandonik Kolkalta Shommamona Award 2018, Shubol Mela Shommamona Award (Kolkalta), Manush Mela Shommamona Award (Kolkata), Sara Bangla Lalon Mela Uthshab Award (Kolkata) and Rana Ghat Uthshab Shommamona Award 2019. She is doing television programmes in various TV channels of home and abroad.
She is currently doing stage programmes and channel programmes. She will do some music videos in the near future. Nigar Sultana Popy is an enlisted artist in both Loko Sangeet and modern songs in Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar. Moreover she frequently does programmes in ‘TARA’ channel in Kolkata. She also got many chances to sing at Bangladesh film industry.
Nigar Sultana Popy said that she wants to sing till her last breath and will live life through singing.
