Experts for developing infrastructure to achieve SDGs

DHAKA – Experts at a meeting today urged the authorities concerned to take more initiatives for developing the country’s infrastructure, including seaports and railways, to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.

The call came from the meeting of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Standing Committee relating to the Planning Ministry held at FBCCI board room in the city, said a press release here
today.

Director In-Charge of the committee Shafiqul Islam Vorosha presented the detailed future plan of the committee while Chairman of the Standing Committee Enayet Hossain Chowdhury presided over the meeting.

Taking part at the discussion, the business leaders expressed their interest to work with Planning Ministry in developing the infrastructure for trade and industry.

They emphasized on easing the traffic congestion situation of the capital to run their business activities smoothly.

Besides, they urged the authorities concerned to set up the ‘animal hats’ before Eid-ul-Azha in such way that the business activities may not hampered.

FBCCI Vice-President M Muntakim Ashraf and FBCCI directors Helena Jahangir, Abu Motaleb, Yusuf Ashraf and Hafez Harun-Or-Roshid also participated in the discussion.
