Bangladesh dump Nepal in SAG women’s T20 Cricket

KATHMANDU, – The Bangladesh women’s cricket team recorded their second successive wins in the ongoing 13th South Asian Games Women’s T20 cricket when they dumped hosts Nepal by 10 wickets in their second match of the tournament held on Wednesday at Pokhara Stadium.

With this day’s victory the Tigresses brighten strong chance of making the final of the tournament.

Forced to bat first by Bangladesh, Nepal cheaply dismissed at a paltry total of 50 runs in the T20 affair with Rabeya Khan caused the major damage
picking up four Nepal’s wickets conceding eight runs. Jahanara Alam made the early inroads, taking two wickets for two runs in three overs while Salma Khatun, Nahida Akhter and Fahima Khatun took one wicket each.

Chasing the paltry total, Bangladesh reached the destination in just 7.4 overs with openers Murshida Khatun and Ayesha Rahman remain unbeaten on 22 and 26 respectively. The ten-wicket win sees Bangladesh keep their hopes alive of clinching gold in the tournament.

Rabeya Khan was named the player of the match for her devastating bowling performance.

Bangladesh lead the four-team table with four points and will play the Maldives tomorrow in their last group phase match. The final of the
tournament is scheduled to be held on December 8. Earlier, Bangladesh made a good start by beating Sri Lanka by seven wickets in their opening match.
