Portland Group Golf Tournament ends in Rangpur

RANGPUR,  – The first three-day “Portland Group Golf Tournament-2019” ended on Friday night through a colourful prize distribution ceremony at Rangpur Golf and Country Club (RGCC) auditorium in Rangpur Cantonment here.

The tournament was sponsored by the Portland Group, a press release of RGCC said here today.

More than 100 contestants of different Golf Clubs from across the country participated in the male, female, junior and sub-junior groups of the
tournament.

Rangpur Area Commander, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 66 Infantry Division and President of RGCC Major General Md Nazrul Islam attended the concluding function as the chief guest.

In the Male Group, Enamul Haque Sohel secured the first position while Major Muhit won the best gross medal. Brigadier General Shams Alauddin Ahmed became the runner up while Major Ashraf won the second best gross award.

Lieutenant Colonel Kudrat-E-Khuda became the second runner up while Engineer Basher won the third best gross award. Lieutenant Colonel Matiul won the maximum part award and Major Saif secured the minimum part award.

Besides, Brigadier General Kazi Ifkhar-Ul-Alam won the longest drive award, Md Aftab Hossain and Lieutenant Colonel Sajid Imran secured the
nearest to pin and conventional on medals respectively in the male group.

In the Female Group, Mrs Nasrine Haque Boby became the winner while Mrs Shilpi won the best gross award. Abrar secured the first position while Elhan became the runner up in the Junior Group.

Zarif secured the first position while Azraf and Saiba jointly became the runners up in the Sub-junior Group of the tournament.

Major General Md Nazrul Islam with Chairman of the Portland Group M Nurul Hossain and its Managing Director Mizanur Rahman distributed awards among the winners in the concluding ceremony.

High ranking military officials, contestants in the tournament and other invited guests were present, among others.
