Booters leave for Oman

DHAKA, – The Bangladesh national football team finally left for Muscat this (Monday) morning as their Muscat-bound Bangladesh Biman aircraft returned to the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport last night for an emergency landing due to technical problem.

The team will undergo a 10-day training camp in Muscat which will be followed by the World Cup qualifying away fixture against Oman on November
14. The foreign coaching staff, including head coach Jamie Day who was holidaying in the USA, is likely to join the team in Muscat later today.

The team is supposed to play a warm-up match on November 9 against a top Omani club as part of their preparation.

In the home and away basis Group E matches, Bangladesh will play their next match against Afghanistan on March 26, 2020 in Bangladesh, Qatar on
March 31 in Qatar, India on June 4 in Bangladesh and Oman on June 9 in Bangladesh.

Earlier, Bangladesh suffered a fighting 2-0 goals defeat to visiting Qatar in their home match after Bangladesh lost their first match of the qualifying
campaign by 1-0 goal against Afghanistan in September.

Bangladesh played out to a fighting 1-1 goal draw with India held last month in Kolkata. The Bangladesh teams is expected to return home on November 15.
