RANGPUR,  – Cultural personalities at a post-rally discussion have stressed on nurturing of healthy Bengali culture involving young generations to entertain people for building a secular and peaceful society.

They laid special importance on forging unity among all progressive forces of the country to resists wicked enemies of humanity like fundamentalism,
militancy, extremism and terrorism toward the direction.

They made the observation at the discussion arranged in celebrations of the 51st founding anniversary of Bangladesh Udichhi Shilpi Gosthi (BUSG) on Tuesday afternoon on its office premises in the city.

Leaders of Rangpur unit of BUSG formally inaugurated the celebrations with hoisting of the national flag and organisational flag along with the artistes of the popular cultural organisation amid rendering the national anthem.

Local leaders, activists and artists of BUSG with socio-cultural, literary and political personalities, students, teachers, civil society members and
elite brought out a colourful rally on the city streets on the occasion.

Chairman of Rangpur unit of the celebration committee of BUSG and noted educationist Professor Maloy Kishore Bhattacharya presided over the
discussion.

Noted cultural personalities including Coordinator of Rangpur unit of the Biswa Sahittya Kendra Syeed Ariful Islam, freedom fighter Chandan Ghosh,
Vice-president of BUSG’s central committee Dr. Swasswato Bhattacharyya, its activists Swapan Paul, Motabberul Islam, Rita Rani Sarker, Shahin Rahman and Kafi Sarker addressed.

The speakers put importance on forging absolute unity among all secular and progressive forces of the country as the fearful complexion of fundamentalism is visible threatening the whole of humanity.

They urged the pro-liberation forces for working unitedly to build a secular Bangladesh free from corruption, fundamentalism, militancy, extremism
and terrorism for establishing core spirit of the War of Liberation.

Professor Bhattacharya called for nurturing rich Bengali culture and heritage to save young generations from clutches of vested quarters involved
with tempting them through misinterpretation of religion toward militancy, terrorism and extremism.

Later, artists of BUSG recited poems, rendered popular songs and dances and staged drama entertaining hundreds of audience of all ages in the evening.
