Bangabandhu, Bangamata football meet concludes in Khulna

KHULNA, – The divisional level Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman National Gold Cup Football Tournament boys (U-17) and Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib National Gold Cup Football Tournament girls (U- 17) ended yesterday (Friday) evening at Khulna District Stadium.

Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque was the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the Bangabandhu and Bangamata National Gold Cup Football Tournament-2019 which ended yesterday at Khulna District Stadium.

Divisional Commissioner of Khulna Md. Lokman Hossain Mia chaired the ceremony while Deputy Inspector General of Khulna Range Police (DIG) Dr. Khandakar Mohid Uddin addressed the ceremony as special guest.

Additional Divisional Commissioners, Additional deputy commissioners, Police Super, President of Khulna Football Association, Managing Director of OJOPADIKO, were present, among others.

The chief guest KCC Mayor said, regular exercise of sports teaches us to self-control, discipline and habit of concentration. Sports, not helps our children to their mental growth and but also forced them to indulge into physical activities. Sports can protect our youth from drug abuse.

A total of eleven team including ten districts of the division and Khulna City Corporation (KCC) were participated in the tournament.

Later, the chief guest KCC Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque has given champion trophy to the Jashore district (Boys-Under 17) while Kushtia district (Girls-Under-17) of the tournament.
