Miscreants attack London emigrant Shahriar Khan’s house

Staff Reporter:A group of unidentified miscreants attacked one London emigrant Shahriar Nafiz Khan house at Chowdhury Para of Malibagh in Dhaka at midnight on September 10.

The miscreants broken the glasses of the house and issued death threat to Shahriar.

In the death threat note is written as ‘Shahriar will be killed on the day he returned from London. They will make him disappeared him from the airport, Beware.”

After that death threat, the whole family is passing the day in fear.

Shahriar Nafis Khan’s father Professor Nazrul Islam Khan said, “We suddenly heard a huge sound at midnight when we were preparing for went to bed on September 10. Some unidentified attackers smashed the glasses into pitches of the house windows. They also thrown a death threat of killing my only son at that time. A few days back, unidentified terrorists repeatedly threatened me over phone asking to be careful. They advised Shahriar not to come Bangladesh in death threat note. It written that Shahriar will not be able to return to London if he once comes to Bangladesh. The terrorist also advised to be peppered to see my son’s body.

Later the family informed the law enforcers about the attack. Earlier, Shahriar Khan was also attacked by the miscreants several times in Bangladesh. In 2011, after being attacked by miscreants, his father went to file a case with New Market Thana. At that time, police terming it a car accident and threatened to seized the car under fitness issue. Now the family is confused about getting support from law enforcers and passing time with anxiety.

When contacted, London emigrant Shahriar Nafiz Khan said, “I involved with BNP politics when I was in Bangladesh. Currently, I am in good term and close contact with exiled leader senior vice-chairman of BNP Tariq Rahman in London. In addition, I always post blogs regarding BNP on Facebook. I also post comments criticizing the activities of present government. Miscreants have repeatedly threatened my father and attacked my Dhaka’s house several times may be for this reason. They also threaten to disappear and kill me.

Earlier, Shahriar Nafis Khan, a resident of London, was seriously injured after being attacked in Azimpur on June 30, 2011. During the attack, the attackers vandalized Shahriar Khan’s car. They hit indiscreetly on his head and body with rods, sticks and hammers. He suffered serious head injuries. Then, the attackers also threatened Shahriar to leave Bangladesh as early as possible. The attackers broke all the glasses of the car and tried to set it on fire pouring petrol. The attackers could not successful on that time because presence of the locals and left the scene quickly. The registration number of the Maruti Suzuki car is (Dhaka Metro Ka 111477). Later, Shahriar was taken to Medinova Medical and Hospital in Dhanmondi for treatment. On duty doctors at the hospital performed a minor operation on the nose and gave 8 stitches on his head on that time.

The car which was used by Shahriar Khan owned by his uncle journalist AKM Zakaria. Zakaria allowed Shahriar to use his car as he comes to the country. Prior to that, Shahriar was attacked by miscreants first time in 2008. Later, he went to London for higher studies.
