Inauguration program of 100^th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was held at the Auditorium of Northern University Bangladesh Yesterday. Hasan Mahmud, MP, the Honorable Minister of Ministry of Information was present as the chief guest and Dr. Mosiur Rahman, Economic adviser of Honorable Prime Minister was present as the guest of honor. Poet Habibullah Siraji, Director General of Bangla Academy and Dr. Anwar Hossain, Vice-Chancellor of NUB were also present as the special guests there. Dr Yusuf Md. Abdullah The Chairman of the NUB Trustee Board and Vice-Chancellor of the Northern University of Business and Technology Khulna presided over the program.

Among others, the Vice-Chancellor of the university was present. Pro-VC and Professor Dr. Engineer Md Humayun Kabir, Treasurer and Professor Mosharraf M. Hossain, Registrar and Professor Dr. Kazi Shahadat Kabir along with Dean of various faculties, departmental heads, teachers, administrative officers, students and guardians were also present there.

Honorable Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud said that, “this research center has been established to preserve the Millennial History and heritage of the Bangla and Bengali nation in the sincere efforts of Northern University Bangladesh. It will also help the new generation to understand the personality, heroism, honesty, patriotism, political insight, and integrity and leadership qualities of the father of the nation”.

There are many rare manuscripts and books published home and abroad are available in hard copies in the research center. Therefore, the authority expects that the research center will become an essential center for learning and research for many people including students, teachers, officials, staffs, researchers and general as well to know more about Bangabandhu.

People of all walks of life are also welcomed here cordially.
