Sherpur to get an IT park at Taka 40 cr.

SHERPUR,  – State Minister for Information and Communication technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak today said the government has taken a project to construct a software technology park in Sherpur.

The software technology park, named after Sheikh Kamal, Bangabandhu’s eldest son, would be constructed at a cost of Taka 40 crore, he said.

Palak said this in a views exchange meeting of Info govt. Project (III) at Sherpur Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Room.

The state minister announced making Sherpur district as a ICT industrial zone saying the present government is relentlessly working for building an ICT infrastructure and connectivity, creating skill human resources, establish e-goverance and formulating necessary ICT friendly policies in the country.

Zunaid Alhed Palak urged the IT educated youths to raise their voice against conspiracy of some militant groups against the country by using internet facilities.

Deputy Commissioner Anar Koli Mahbub was in the chair while Joint Secretary of ICT Division Biborno Kumar Ghosh, police super Qazi Ashraful Azim and general secretary of Sherpur district unit of Awami League and public prosecutor Chandan Kumar Paul, spoke, among others, on the occasion.

Palak said 1.15 lakh internet connection would be given up to rural level within three years while every house in Sherpur district would get broadband connection.

Later the state minister along with other officials visited the proposed site of IT park at Charpakkimari Union.
