Nusrat’s sexual assault case shifted to tribunal for quick disposal

FENI,  – A court here today accepted the charge-sheet against sacked Sonagazi madrasa principal SM Siraj-ud-Daula in the sexual assault case of madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi and shifted the lawsuit to the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal for quick disposal.

Senior Judicial Magistrate of Feni Zakir Hossain passed the order today as the case was filed under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, said investigation office of the case and PBI inspector Md Shah Alam.

Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Judge Mamunur Rashid has fixed July 9 for hearing of the case.

On July 3, PBI inspector Md Shah Alam submitted the charge-sheet against sacked madrasa principal SM Siraj-ud-Daula.

Nusrat Jahan Rafi’s mother filed the case against Siraj-ud-Daula over the alleged sexual assault on March 27.

The 18-year-old girl Nusrat was set afire on the rooftop of the madrasa at Sonagazi on April 6 allegedly for refusing to withdraw the sexual assault case filed against Siraj-ud-Daula. Nusrat lost her battle for life on April 10.
