DHAKA,  -Bangladesh received a massive setback as pacer Mohammad Saifuddin and spin all-rounder Mossadek Hossain Saikat suffered injury blow to miss the team’s crucial game against Australia at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on Thursday.

It is yet to be known whether they would miss more matches. Saifuddin, their highest wicket-taker in this edition with nine scalps, missed the match because of a flare-up of a back issue that he has been carrying since the warm-up match against India on May 28.

On the other hand Mosaddek Hossain, who bats at number seven and also bowls a few overs of off-spin, suffered from shoulder injury, which he
experienced during the seven-wicket win over West Indies on Monday.

Fast bowler Rubel Hossain and batsman Sabbir Rahman will replace them to play their first match in this edition.

Sabbir was the original choice for the No.7 slot but Mosaddek hogged all the lime light by hitting a whirlwind 27 ball-52 unbeaten to help Bangladesh
lift the tri-series trophy in Ireland by beating West Indies. Since then he edged Sabbir to occupy Bangladesh’s No.7 slot.
