President leaves Uzbekistan for home

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan,  – President M Abdul Hamid today Left Uzbekistan wrapping up his seven-day official visit to two central Asian countries – Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

A special VVIP flight (BG-1519) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Limited, carrying the President and his entourage members, took off Tashkent International Airport at about 3:15 pm (local time).

Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov, Bangladesh Ambassador to Uzbekistan Mosud Mannan and high civil and military officials concerned were present at the airport to see the President off.

President’s spouse Rashida Khanam and foreign minister Dr AK Abul Momen and Rejwan Ahammad Taufiq, MP, are accompanying the head.

Earlier, the President visited the Bangladesh embassy office at Tashkent. He cut a cake there. President Hamid paid rich tributes to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Shiekh Mujibur Rahman by placing at wreath at his portrait there.

The President stayed at the embassy office for some time and had his lunch along with the entourage members.

President Hamid left Dhaka on June 13 to attend the filth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) at Tajik capital Dushanbe and another programme in Uzbekistan.
