A two-day Bharatanatyam festival ‘Rongoprobesh 2018’ will begin on Friday evening at the auditorium of Independent University of Bangladesh (IUB).
The second edition of ‘Rongoprobesh’ will be organised by IUB and Shadhona’s sister organisation ‘Kolpotoru’.
The first edition of Rongoprobesh was held in 2015.
A solo Bharatanatyam Margam will be presented by dancer Arthy Ahmed on the first day of the festival, who has just returned from India after completing five years of dance training.
On the closing day, the students of Kolpotoru will present group and duet Bharatanatyam items accompanied by live music by four eminent visiting artistes from Bangalore.
Dancer and choreographer Kirti Ramgopal, who has designed the entire festival and trained all the dancers, will lead the troupe.
Audiences will enjoy a Carnatic Kacheri or South Indian Music Concert by the visiting artistes which will be an additional attraction on the second day.
It is worth mentioning that Kolpotoru is the only Bangladeshi dance school whose students have been invited to perform at India’s most prestigious Khajuraho Dance Festival in 2016 and 2017.
The program is open to all.
