YSSE organizes Social Entrepreneurship Summit 2018

With the theme of integrating and develop future oriented social entrepreneurs, Youth School for Social Entrepreneurship (YSSE) has organized Social Entrepreneurship Summit 2018 at Emmanuelle’s Hall of Gulshan, Dhaka. The aim of this summit was to inspire our energetic youth of the society towards social entrepreneurship and also to empower our hard-working social entrepreneurs so that they can act as agents of positive changes. Sheikh Mohammad Yousuf Hossain- the President of YSSE said in his welcome speech, “This summit facilitates young blood to boost up and rethink about their entrepreneurial potentiality. It creates a milestone in going forward for entrepreneurial knowledge initiatives”.
The summit was designed for all day including 4 key note sessions, 2 panel discussions, keynote speech and award giving ceremony. Sidsel Bleken, the ambassador of Norway to Bangladesh and Nahim Razzak, honorable Member of the Parliament have participated in this summit as the guests of honors. The show started in the full swing with the energetic speech of Dr. Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of Prime Asia University, to inspire youth towards innovations like Google glass. The fundamental attributes of a successful entrepreneur in today’s world are elaborated by Rashed Noman, COO of Spreeha Bangladesh. The ways of being an intellectual entrepreneur was revealed by Dr. Almasur Rahman and he also lightened up the hall with his charismatic convincing power. Alex Mckenzie, Co-founder and CEO of Fireflame Media, explained the tomorrow’s leaders and changemakers that how today work to build tomorrow’s story. According to him “an entrepreneur has to be a multi-tasker to accomplish his ultimate goal.” The first panel discussion was moderated by Syed Niaz, Enterprise Advisor of ILO. Md. Adnan Hossain, Founder and Chairman of ‘It’s Humanity Foundation’; Carlo Antonio Nino, Deputy Country Manager of ‘Hellen Keller International’; Engr. Atiqur Rahman Sarker Sohel, Managing Director of ‘Muspana’ and Alex Mckenzie were the discussants of this panel discussion.
Monsurul Aziz, Head of Enterprise Design of ‘Toru Institute of Inclusive Innovation’ told the participants of the event about the difficulty level of innovation and sustainability. Mirza Tanzim Sami, CEO of ‘Synergy Global’ shared their journey of winning the prestigious Hult Prize first time ever as a Bangladeshi. Then, Bhanu Prakash Jonalgadda- regarded as the World’s Fastest Human Calculator, engaged all the audience through the magical skill he possesses.
The 2nd panel discussion was recapitulated by Sanjana Fardi, Country Head, Brac Saajan Exchange Ltd. and discussed by Achia Nila, Founder of ‘Woman in Digita’l; Esrat Karim Eve, Founder of ‘AMAL foundation’; Maisha Lubaba, CEO of ‘Protibha’. Later on, Shamim Kabir, MD of Step Group made the participants more enthusiastic about social entrepreneurship by his practical and implementing remarks. Ibnul Syed Rana, CEO and Chairman of Nirapad Development Foundation showed his gratitude to the youth as a well-wisher on behalf of YSSE. In his speech Sidsel Bleken remarked that “Entrepreneurship is all about changing society. In Bangladesh, where poor are getting poorer, social entrepreneurship can engage more people of the society to create impact.” “Sociopreneurs’ Challenge” winners were awarded in this event where Team “HIP” was the winner. The summit was concluded by the speech of honorable MP Nahim Razzak. He requested private sector stakeholders to come forward for social entrepreneurs and disburse fund from CSR. This wonderful arrangement was put to an end through celebrating three years anniversary of YSSE.
