Don’t give party membership to bad elements: Quader

COX’S BAZAR – Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader today asked the AL leaders not to give the party membership to the bad people, reports BSS.

“Identified terrorists, extortionists and land-grabbers would not be recruited as members of the Awami League….we don’t need such bad elements in our party,” he said while inaugurating membership recruitment and renewal programme of district Awami League at the Public Library Auditorium here.

Terming youths and women as the main source of vote of Awami League, the AL general secretary said youth and women voters aged below 18 would ensure the victory of Sheikh Hasina in the next general election.

“Young male and female voters will be the main target of Awami League to give membership,” he added.

Suggesting the AL leaders and workers not to consider the BNP as a weak political party, Quader said there is no reason to undermine BNP, as anti-Awami League as well as anti-liberation and communal forces will cast vote for the ‘sheaf of paddy’, the election symbol of BNP.

Chaired by Cox’s Bazar District AL President Advocate Sirajul Mostafa, the function was also addressed, among others, by AL’s Joint General Secretaries Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif and Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Organizing Secretaries AFM Bahauddin Nasim and Enamul Haq Shamim, Relief and Social Welfare Affairs Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, Deputy Office Secretary Biplab Barua and Cox’s Bazar District AL General Secretary Mujibur Rahman.
