DHAKA – The International Cricket Council (ICC) has updated the ‘ICC Test Player Rankings’ just after the end of Australia- Bangladesh two-match Test series, reports BSS.
The newly updated player rankings has been published by the ICC on Friday.
Despite losing the last Test match against Australia, Bangladeshi cricketers have been improved significantly in the ICC player rankings.
For Bangladesh, skipper Mushfiqur Rahim who scored 68 and 31 in Chittagong Test, has gained one place to reach 22nd position with career best 658 rating points.
Alongside the skipper, Sabbir Rahman has also improved in the newly announced ICC Test player rankings. His 66 and 24 runs under pressure have helped him to secure 22 slots to reach 73rd position.
Apart from the batsmen, promising spinner Mehedy Hasan Miraz and pacer Mustafizur Rahman have also improved in the bowlers rankings.
Miraz grabbed three wickets in the first innings, which lead him to climb up 29th position, while Mustafizur Rahman’s five wickets in the match have seen him bagged 12 slots to reach 43rd position.
Meanwhile, in spite of winning the last Test match, Australia have slipped one position in the ICC Test Team Rankings. They are now fifth in the Test team rankings. Bangladesh have bagged 5 rating points but they are still remained in their previous ninth position with 74 ratings.
