JS body for holding ‘Bangladesh Envoys Conference’

DHAKA : The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry for Foreign Affairs yesterday recommended holding “Bangladesh Envoys Conference” with participation of all the ambassadors and high commissioners of the country working abroad, reports BSS.
The parliamentary body made the recommendation in its 15th meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) here with its Chairman Dr Dipu Moni presiding, said an official release.
The meeting suggested arranging the conference to hold detailed discussions on the government’s policies and positions and its challenges and prospects regarding the foreign policy, international relations, bilateral relations, trade and commerce and expatriate welfare.
It also suggested preparing booklets and documentaries on the Liberation War of 1971 and sending those to Bangladesh missions abroad.
The committee thanked Dr Dipu Moni for her well-thought-out, informative and historic speech about the Rohingya problem in parliament. The committee members discussed in details their experiences of visits to Australia and New Zealand.
