Jhenidah – Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested the regional coordinator of Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Chuadanga village of Jhenidah district early Sunday, reports UNB.
Tipped off, a team of RAB-6 conducted separate drives in Chuadanga BSCIC area around 12:45am and arrested Limon Hossian, 22, also an accused in a case filed after seizure of explosives from the same area in May.
“Limon received trainings on militancy and explosive use in different parts of the country,” additional Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Rafiqul Islam, also the commanding officer of Rab-6, said this while briefing reporters after the arrest.
Earlier, the elite force arrested 10 accused in the case. Six of them have already confessed to their involvement with JMB.
During the drives on May 17-18 in the village, Rab seized huge explosives, suicide vests and electronic devices. On May 18, a case was filed in this connection.
