Iqbal Sobhan for constituting 9th Wage Board

DHAKA : Prime Minister’s Media Adviser Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury yeserday suggested for constituting the 9th Wage Board immediately to meet demand of the journalists, reports BSS.
He came up with the suggestion at a discussion at Jatiya Press Club here.
Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) and Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) organized the discussion marking the 42nd martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day.
BFUJ President Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul, Secretary General Omar Faruque, DUJ General Secretary Sohel Haider Chowdhury and former DUJ General Secretary Quddus Afrad, among others, addressed the function. DUJ President Shaban Mahmood chaired it.
Iqbal Sobhan said Bangabandhu had formulated a law to constitute the wage board for protecting the rights of the journalists.
The nation will always remember the contribution of Bangabandhu to ensuring the dignity of journalists and media personalities.
BFUJ leaders said they would take to the streets to press home their demand for constituting the 9th Wage Board.
